The West Indian Foundation Raises Funds for Haiti

Hartford, CT (August 30, 2021) -- We watched with alarm as the 7.2 magnitude earthquake devastated Haiti within just a month after the assassination of its president. This unprecedented coupling of manmade disaster, natural disaster and a global pandemic implores us to assist those who need our help now and in the coming months. The West Indian Foundation is joining the clarion call for aid to Haiti by collecting monetary contributions through its disaster relief fund, established for just such occasions.

In October 2017, after witnessing the destruction of hurricanes Irma and Maria, the West Indian Foundation, Inc. established a disaster relief fund to collect cash donations for subsequent relief efforts. Funds raised would be distributed to organizations that can provide direct and immediate assistance to the people on the ground. “The West Indian Foundation is committed to mobilizing support for all Caribbean nations when disaster occurs. Our heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with the residents of Haiti at this difficult time.”, says Violette Haldane, President of the West Indian Foundation, Inc.
